Art of Principles
Principle of design
Emphasis: this movie poster has a good use of emphasis because your eyes are drawn to the batman symbol first, due to it's the brightest thing on the page. Also its on an already stood out building.
Movement: This picture has a good use of movement because that is the only thing in the picture, it shows it like that by being curved, movement!
Unity: This picture is very orderly (which it is calming actually) due to the m&m's being in well ordered pairs and rows, haha like the periodic table, but its a good use of unity.
Rhythm: This picture shows a pattern using the shapes and not just a feeling of well being (like unity) but it is calming as well.
Contrast: This movie poster have the two elements of value and form, how? the lights and darks of the picture (Or if you like tints and shades). and the picture has the form and form of the lady's face.
Last but certainly not least
Variety: This movie cover has it all! (lacking maybe with some) but this picture is pretty good with the art stuff.

Art of elements
Elements of Design
Line: This CD cover is an simple form of line only showing well one line, but it is an interesting piece. It would be assumed to be just a line but no it's actually a cover for the Arctic Monkeys "AM" CD
Form: This movie poster has a good showing of form because the apple she is holding looks 3D like and almost holding it out in front of you. also the glare is pretty cool as well.
Space: This CD cover ("Dark Side of the Moon," from Pink Floyd) is a really good example of Space because most of the picture is of space and is mainly empty other then the object in the middle. There is way more negative space then positive.
Texture: The texture in this is easily shown at an awesome view actually (had to point that out), and it would be considered implied, cause you can't touch it.
Shape: this picture is a good use of shape because you can see the tiles or squares very easily and its simple
Colour: This CD cover from MIKA is a very colourful picture. The colours literally popping out or it looks like it is popping out, or it looks like an explosion of well colours! Also more then one colour, not really a scheme
Last but not least
Value: Well first of all, I like the look of this picture. It shows mainly the darks of the value but it does show the lights as well.

Log Blog assignment 3# Animation
Log Blog Assignment 3# Animation
Q1) What topic did you chose to explore?
Animation!
Q2) Why did you chose this topic, was it a previous interests or would you like to learn more about it?
Animation has always been a bit of an interest to me, a few years ago I wanted to be an animator actually. Also I love Cartoons and Anime, but I feel like i should learn more about this and i'm kind of interested
Q3) Give three everyday examples of where you would find this type of media in your everyday life?
This one is going to be small and cute.
- Tv, there's Cartoons like Johnny Test or gumball
- On my computer I have an animation program (which I don't use a lot anymore)
- last but not least some apps I use have animations on them
and who is the target audience (who are they trying to reach, mothers, kids, students, wealthy, poor, etc.)
The purpose serves an animated movie, to entertain people, it's a movie. The target audience would be Kid's to Students (really anyone but they're more of a target). It's a animation or a Japanese cartoon, i'm not saying that all animation is towards children or kids (trust me there is some very not kid friendly animations) but this movie is targeted towards them. Also people who can pay for it or download it as well. (Its PG just for a heads up so there would have to be parents as well)
Q5) Why did you chose the specific visual aid and how does it best represent you chosen topic?
I Chose that picture because it's an anime (Japanese animation) that I have watched myself so I can connect to it

Log Blog Assignment #2 News/Journalism
Q1) What topic did you chose to explore?
I chose to explore News/Journalism
Q2) Why did you chose this topic-was it a previous interest or would you like to learn more about it?
I chose this topic because I've done it in the past with school work, so I wouldn't say it was a previous interest. Also it's kind of cool learning about news and other stuff about the world or even our own town. I do want to learn more about this topic.
Q3) What are three examples of where you would find this type of media in your everyday life?
Well, the first one is the most obvious one, and it's most likely on your table right now, THE NEWSPAPER! The newspaper is were you can get all the stuff that's going on, like what's happening in your town, the politics and my favourite the zodiac! and here's an example of one http://www.brantfordexpositor.ca/ (link at the bottom),(that's an online one and it doesn't show the Zodiac). Now a different example is, well it may not always show the news or news but it's social media! Facebook, Twitter, and even Instagram, they'll talk about stuff with the person writing/typing it. On Facebook it says (on the right top corner) what the news is, or most talked about (it is called trending). Last but not least, the News. the boring show that was on TV when we were younger? Yes that the news is a lot or is basically the newspaper but on TV, there is more then one type of News stations, example being CBC, it depends on where you live and what channels you have.
4) Using your chosen visual aid to answer, what purpose does this media serve and who is the target audience (who are they trying to reach- mothers, kids, students, wealthy, poor, etc.)
This media serves as an information shower, to show whats going on in whatever category you pick, examples: News, Sports, Life and a few other more. It's the news online but it goes for everyday things. The target audience would be people who are students (grade 8 to collage) and older. people who would want to know whats going on. Children and kids wouldn't understand or possibly care whats going on.
Q5) Why did you chose the specific visual aid and how does it best represent your chosen topic.
I chose it because to show a type of news online and it best represent because it can be both news and/or journalism (mainly news)

Log Blog Assignment #1 video games
LOG BLOG ASSIGNMENT #1 Video games
Q1) What topic did you choose to explore?
The topic I choose to explore was video games.
Q2) Why did you chose this topic, was it a previous interest or would you like to learn more about it?
I myself am a gamer (a person who likes to play video games), so I chose this topic because it was a previous interest. Video games can be used for fun but also learning tool, there's a site online that teaches children how to do math. I do want to learn more about it too because even I don't know everything about it
Q3) Give three examples of where you can find this type of media in your everyday life?
The first example is in your own home! most households have some sort of gaming systems in them, PC, Xbox (original, 360 or the One), Play station (1,2,3,4), maybe even a Wii. Video games can also be on you at all times maybe in your hands, your phone? Games like Flappy bird, Flow and Candy crush. A few examples of handheld gaming devices are the game boy, and the DS systems (there's a lot of Ds Systems)
<- Game Boy
Example 2, the old school arcade. An arcade is where a group of gaming systems (normally large and bulky) are placed for the public which they can play. you have to pay with either coins or "tokens" (special money for games). Arcades are more rare these days but there are still out there. Last but not least Gaming magazines, the magazines show case the latest games, talks with the creator, maybe even little details in the games themselves.
Q4) Using your chosen visual aid to answer, what purpose does this media serve and who is the target audience (who are they trying to reach- mothers, kids, students, wealthy, poor, etc.) The purpose is to show what one of the gaming systems look like, to show what it is, the buttons a picture basically. The target audience can be anyone! Its an older gaming system yes (Released in 1989, thank you Google) but the actual target would be children, because children mainly play video games (everyone can nowadays) but I feel like it was intended for kids, and for people who would be able to pay for it (not that much these days)
Q5) Why did you chose the specific visual aid and how does it best represent your chosen topic.
I chose that visual aid because to show what one of the systems are for a handhold/household game. It was for the proof of it. Ive never played with a Game Boy but I'm assuming they're fun to play with.
